What are subsidised meals for seniors in Australia?+
Subsidised meals are home-delivered meals partly paid for by the Australian Government under the Support at Home program (formerly Home Care Package, replacing CHSP from Nov 2025). Who is eligible for subsidised meal delivery?+
Australians aged 65+ (or 50+ for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people) who have been assessed by My Aged Care via a RAS or ACAT assessment and have a Support at Home / HCP package in place. The provider must approve meals as a budgeted item.

Step 1: Call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or apply online. Step 2: Complete an in-home assessment. Step 3: Once your Support at Home package is in place, ask your provider to authorise Sona's Kitchen meals — we handle the rest.

Approved customers pay ~30% of the meal price at checkout — typically $3.60–$4.00 per meal. The remaining 70% is invoiced directly to your Support at Home / HCP provider.
