CHSP is the entry-level Australian Government program that helps older people stay independent at home through subsidised services — including meals, transport, domestic help and personal care. It's separate from Home Care Packages (HCP) and the new Support at Home programme, which fund higher-level care needs.

Yes. Where a CHSP provider funds meal delivery as part of an approved service, we can supply chef-made, Halal-certified chilled meals and invoice the provider directly. Speak to your CHSP provider about adding Sona's Kitchen to your approved meals supplier list.

Generally people aged 65+ (50+ for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) who need a small amount of help to keep living independently. Eligibility and any client contribution are assessed by My Aged Care (1800 200 422) — we can help your provider invoice once you're approved.

CHSP clients usually make a small client contribution toward each meal, with the Government subsidy covering the rest. Exact contribution depends on your provider's fee policy and your income — your provider sets the co-payment, not us.

From 1 July 2027 most CHSP services are scheduled to move into the new Support at Home programme. Existing CHSP clients continue to receive meals during transition, and we already invoice Support at Home providers — so your meals don't need to change when the funding does.
